ReSorb by Acoustics By Design

In 2002 Colin Rawlings was one of the founders of, at the time, the UK’s only office acoustics focussed business working with furniture/fitout and end users.

Acoustics and the science behind it have not changed but some aspects of offices have, around 2011 we saw the start of “Agile” working, new ways of working with spaces designed for the core office activities of collaboration, concentration and communication.

Working with Plantronics the word spread with the right environment that productivity and staff wellbeing can be increased. Acoustics By Design worked with Plantronics around Europe presenting the benefits of good acoustic design through the use of sound masking, absorbing products and barriers.

Partnerships with leading suppliers such as Lencore Sound Masking and Orangebox have allowed us to reach a much bigger audience, the advice is much the same as it was in 2002, acoustics is just as important as the aesthetic of an office, get it right and the staff are happier, work harder and are more efficient.

In 2011 Colin went back to University to qualify as an acoustician before starting Acoustics By Design in 2013.

Colin Rawlings MIoA

A qualified acoustician, Colin has been working in the office acoustics field since 2002 working all over the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

“I have worked with Colin for over five years in my role at Plantronics. Colin has provided acoustic advise and solutions for all of our new and refurbished offices in Europe. Colin’s advice is always clear and pitched so that everyone understands without being too technical but with enthusiasm and an obvious depth of knowledge. He manages an excellent team of installers who not only deliver the solutions but work with the other contractors to ensure the projects are completed on time and to the highest standards. I would highly recommend Colin’s work and a conversation with him about acoustics.”
